A DISASTER DIARY: LEARN. PRAY. PREPARE!

 

Directed and written by former Malibu Mayor Pamela Conley Ulich, A Disaster Diary is raw and real — filmed during and after the devastating 2025 Palisades and Eaton Fires. The documentary captures unforgettable images of survival, solidarity, and service in the midst of catastrophe.

 

The film features powerful on-the-ground footage of community members stepping up to help in the aftermath, including:

 

Haylynn Conrad, joining forces with Pamela to deliver critical supplies to the community and helping coordinate response efforts and communication with Malibu residents and elected officials.

 

Richard Garvey, who received Starlink equipment to support Malibu’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and restore communications when it mattered most.

 

Dr. Pike of Malibu Urgent Care, who treated firefighters and residents during the height of the fires.

 

Kasey Earnest, Executive Director of the Malibu Boys & Girls Club, leading the setup of a Recovery Center at Third Space in Malibu.

Pamela Conley Ulich was born in Kansas and followed her dream to live in California. Pamela hopes to create meaningful change through art, storytelling, and public service. An author, attorney, professor, and artist, she currently serves on the Malibu Arts Commission and previously served eight years on the Malibu City Council, including a term as mayor. Her work—both civic and creative—focuses on resilience, healing, and inspiring communities to grow stronger together.
